Founded by a group of finance and technology professionals as a non-profit organisation in 2017 in Hong Kong, the Institute of Financial Technologists of Asia (IFTA) aims to lead the global development of FinTech talent with the highest standards of ethics, education and professional conduct.

Mr. Paul Pong
Mr. Pong is a graduate of the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a B.Sc. and a EMBA degree. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERcM certificant and Holder of Qualified Retirement Adviser. He was granted a “World Outstanding Chinese Award” by “World Outstanding Chinese Association ” in 2006, “Capital Leaders of Excellence 2007 Awards” and “100% HK Branding Award 2018”. Mr. Pong has very solid experience in traditional funds, hedge funds and venture capital. Mr. Pong is a regular contributor on financial/investment issues to the Hong Kong Economic Journal, Capital Magazine and author of a number of books on investment. He has always been invited as a guest speaker for financial training courses and investors’ education in PRC, HK, Taiwan and other Asian regions. He has made many financial comments as to when and where to invest in many occasions and in many leading newspapers and magazines in Hong Kong and Mainland China, TV and radio programs in the Asian region.
Mr. Wilson Kwok
Mr. Wilson C. Kwok graduated from University of Aberdeen, United Kingdom in 1986 with a MA Honours Degree in Accountancy with Economics together with a prize, for being the top student in Accountancy class. After his graduation, he joined KPMG, Edinburgh, UK Office for his Chartered Accountancy training and qualified as a chartered accountant in 1989. Mr. Kwok is a Fellow Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. He was the Founding Executive Committee Member and Honorary Treasurer of the Institute of Financial Planners of Hong Kong (“IFPHK”). Besides his achievements in academics and business activities, he holds a number of positions in various Professional Associations and Charitable activities. Mr. Kwok has extensive experience in finance, auditing, international tax planning, financial management, consulting advisory, IPO arrangement, corporate finance and professional training etc. He was a committee member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants – PRC Technical Committee in 1994 for the preparation and overseeing the listing of the first batch of nine PRC “H” share companies in Hong Kong.
Mr. Andy Chung
Andy has over 20 years of experience providing environmental data management solutions to both the public and private sectors in Asia. A combined electronic and environmental engineer, Andy is particularly interested in identifying areas where information and communication technologies (ICT) can be adopted for better efficiency, effectiveness and sustainable development.
Dr. Darron Sun
Darron graduated from Deakin University with a major in Computer Science and obtained both Master of Science in Information Systems and Master of Business Administration from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Darron is CPA (Australia), CMA (Australia), Fellow of Institute of Public Accountants (FIPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA).

Mr. Jeffrey Ng
Jeffrey is the Director (Associate partner equivalent) of Lanyue蓝跃, at McKinsey & Co. The mandate is to help corporate to make the leap into digital businesses with delivery capabilities. He brings his experiences in setting up Fintech businesses, monetizing data and the relevant domain knowledge across wide spectrum of financial institutions to bring everlasting success in strategy, quick win to full implementation.
Mr. Mingles Tsoi
Mingles is an entrepreneur owning his own consultancy company since 1997. Besides executive search, he also specializes in fundraising and consulting for startup ventures. Currently, he is the CXO (Chief eXploration Officer) of ParticleX, a tech-based startups investor and accelerator that aims to help technology startups tap into the Greater Bay Area through connecting the market, resources, research, and talent by making use of its comprehensive network in Hong Kong and Shenzhen. Previously, he was the Director of Startup & Innovation Services for KPMG China, mainly responsible for startup and innovative business consulting services for the region. Mingles is also a pioneer in startup education. He had been working with the CUHK Center for Entrepreneurship as Project Director for eight years. Some of his major accomplishments including the “Hong Kong Social Enterprise Challenge", the first CU Alumni Entrepreneur Census to investigate the success factors of leading entrepreneurs from local university education and the Google’s Empowering Young Entrepreneur (EYE) Program.
Besides entrepreneurial activities Mingles is also enthusiastic in youth development. He contributes his experience and knowledge in providing voluntary mentoring and business training services to various non-profit organizations. He was the Co-opted Members of the Working Group of Youth Development Fund of the Commission on Youth, and currently serving as Non-official Member of the Social Enterprise Advisory Committee respectively. He is also the founding members of Lions Club Hong Kong International Finance Centre, Hong Kong Institute of Social Impact Analysts and AIESEC Alumni Association of Hong Kong. Currently, He is the members of Smart City Consortium, Hong Kong Electronics & Technologies Association. He also serves as board member of the Hong Kong Business Angel Network (HKBAN) and as investor member of Cyberport Investor Network. He is currently serving the DIT Committee by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, and the executive committee members for Startup Council and HKITIC by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries respectively.
Mr Raymond Chan
Raymond Chan is now CEO & Director of Metaverse Securities Limited and LionGlobal Financial Limited (iFund), both subsidiaries of 9F Inc (NASDAQ: JFU). He wasfirst appointed as Managing Director of Ether Global (formerly known as 9FInternational) in October 2018 and is responsible for applying financial and virtualbank licenses in Hong Kong, Singapore, Lithuania and China. He is also responsiblefor “Tech Enabling” businesses in Hong Kong and Southeast Asia markets. InOctober 2019, Raymond was also appointed the General Manager of Niche GlobalFintech, a wholly owned subsidiary of 9F, and is responsible for applying ElectronicMoney Institution (EMI) licence and related business and operations in EU Area. In 2020, Raymond was selected “Leader of the Year” by IFTA.
Raymond is well-known as the founder of the first virtual banking, inMotion of CITIC Bank International, launched in Hong Kong before any virtual bank licenses was issued. In 2017, he led the Bank to successfully obtain HKMA’s approval of eKYC and changes of related laws to make it possible. His contributions enable the first ever remote account opening in Hong Kong to accomplish without branch visits, wet signatures and address proofs.
Raymond has been working in the banking industry for more than 25 years and holding management positions in major banks. Before joining 9F, he was General Manager of China CITIC Bank International and Head of Marketing of ICBC (Asia). His career covers all areas in banking including head of e-Business, Marketing, Branch Network, Call Centre, Sales & Distribution, operations and technical services from HSBC, Standard Chartered, ICBC to CITIC.

Professor Aristotelis Stouraitis
Professor Aristotelis Stouraitis is Professor of Finance and Head of the Department of Finance and Decision Sciences and Director of the Centre for Corporate Governance and Financial Policy at Hong Kong Baptist University. He was previously with City University of Hong Kong during 2000-2010.
He holds Bachelor’s degrees in economics, accounting and finance from the American College of Greece, MSc in management from INSEAD (France), and PhD in finance from Imperial College London (United Kingdom).
His research interests are in corporate finance, with emphasis on corporate restructuring and corporate governance. His research has been published in the Journal of Financial Economics, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Review of Finance, and other international academic journals. He has made presentations in conferences organized by the U.S. National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), Harvard Business School, the European Finance Association, the Asian Finance Association, and in more than 30 other international academic conferences worldwide. His research or commentary has been quoted in media outlets in North and South America, Europe, and Hong Kong, including Bloomberg, The Economist magazine, and the leading German financial daily newspaper, Handelsblatt.
Ms. Ashley Khoo
Ms Khoo, CFA, CPA, is an asset management and investment banking professional with comprehensive buy-side and sell-side experience, inclusive of portfolio management, fundamental/quantitative/pre-deal research covering Asian and China markets, multi-asset class investment, and Big 4 financial advisory in Hong Kong and New York. She is a Board member of the CFA Society Hong Kong, an Honorary Advisor and Investigation Committee member of the Financial Reporting Council, and the CFA Institute’s Presidents Council Governance Committee member. Ms Khoo served as the President of the CFA Society Hong Kong from 2016 to 2018.

Ms. Juliana Lam
Ms. Juliana Lam is the former CEO of HSBC Life Insurance. She is also the former Executive Committee member and IFPHK president for 2005/2006 and Examination Committee in 2017/2018.
During her tenure at IFPHK, she helped to build CFP certification into a well-recognized professional qualification that upholds the highest professional standards to protect the consumer public. She actively participated in various committees and proactively lobbied support from corporations and individuals to support IFPHK’s vision and mission objectives.
In 2007, she was nominated and subsequently elected to serve as part of the international Board of FPSB Ltd, where she was responsible in maintaining and upholding the international standards of CFP certification licensees worldwide. Over her two-year tenure, she committed over four weeks of her leave every year to fulfill her duties, and have personally gained from the global exposure. She believed that this is a unique experience that she can offer to IFPHK as it looked to establish internationally-recognized standards.

Mr. Ka-Ming Lee
Lee Ka Ming obtained a Master of Research in Statistics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2001. Joined BIBO Limited after graduation. In 2020, he was awarded the “Certified Financial Technologist” qualification by the IFTA Asian Institute of Financial Technologists. Good at using data analysis and technology to improve operational efficiency. In 2006, he became the Chief Operating Officer, managing about 100 employees in the frontline, support, technical and research departments. In 2017, he was promoted to the position of Chief Executive Officer of the company. He has profound experience in account receivable management and spared no effort to actively promote the application of financial technology in the industry.
Dr. Miranda Lou
Dr Miranda Lou is Executive Vice President of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, responsible for planning and management of the University’s resources and affairs. The scope of her responsibility covers finance; human resources; information technology; campus development & facilities management; knowledge transfer & entrepreneurship; mainland, alumni, communications & public affairs; subsidiaries management; and legal & governance.
Dr Lou is currently board director of Logistics and Supply Chain MultiTech R&D Centre, and member of Hong Kong Housing Authority, Standing Commission on Civil Service Salaries & Conditions of Service, Insurance Appeals Tribunal, and Hong Kong Logistics Development Council. She also served as Vice-Chairman of Hong Kong Liner Shipping Association and committee member of Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, Hong Kong Management Association, Greater Pearl River Delta Business Council and Vocational Training Council.

Dr. Terence Chan
With 27 years of real estate investment & acquisition experience in the regional capital market, Dr. Chan had participated in over 22 landmark mix-used complexes and closed over US$2 billion corporate deals during his senior executive tenure in Grosvenor Asia Pacific and Tianjin Development.
He also founded Howah Capital and HSL Capital which focus on investment & financial advisory services in the segments of real estate and mobile internet application. In the past 6 years with HSL Capital, he had successfully completed transactions valued over US$1 billion and the AUM is now over more than US$600 million.
He is also the founder of Howard Technology Venture which mainly develops SME investment business related to environmental applications, smart cities and fintech, and assists corresponding companies in market development, corporate governance and capital operation aiming for future listing.

Former Deputy Chairman and Managing Director of Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes AuthorityMs. Alice Law is currently the Co-chair of Global Future Council on Responsive Financial Systems of the World Economic Forum. Mr. Dicky Yip
Mr. Yip, Chairman of Ping On OneConnect Bank, had served the HSBC Group for 47 years with working experiences in Hong Kong, London, China and USA. He had been appointed as General Manager of HSBC and Chief Executive of China Business, Director of Bank of Shanghai, Director of Ping An Insurance and Ping An Bank, Executive Vice President of Bank of Communications.Mr. Yip was also former Chief Representative Asia Pacific of Institute of International Finance.
Mr. Yip received the Bronze Bauhinia Star awarded by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government and the MBE by the British Government. He was named Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Hong Kong in 1984. He served two terms as a member of Shanghai Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Dr. Dorothy Chau
Dr. Chau is currently the Director of Hong Kong, Macao, and Cross-border Financial Affairs at Tencent. Before joining Tencent, she was a Senior Lecturer at the HK Baptist University, within the School of Business. Dr. Chau was also the Director of the new Master in Finance (FinTech and Financial Analytics), bringing together the best minds and leaders in Finance, FinTech, A.I., RegTech, Privacy and Cybersecurity. With over 8 years in this space, Dr. Chau is a seasoned FinTech professional with a strong reputation as being an industry and academic liaison. Dr. Chau’s deep industry connections has allowed her to bring the biggest and best organizations from Tencent, Alipay, IBM, UBS, BNP Paribas, Ant Financial, Deloitte, Ping An Bank, Crypto.com and others to work with her to integrate content into her programmes, where she has successfully built industry-academic collaboration. She is also the advisor and chairman of the Data Privacy Special Interest Group of the Institute of Financial Technologists of Asia (IFTA) and the founding council member and chairman of the blockchain education committee of the Hong Kong Blockchain Development Association (HKBCDA).
Dr. Henry Chan
Dr Henry Chan received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from the University of Cambridge, England, and his Ph.D. degree from the University of British Columbia, Canada. He is currently an Associate Professor and Associate Head of the Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He has co-authored a textbook on e-commerce and research papers in various journals.
Dr Chan was the recipient of the 2015 IEEE Computer Society Computer Science and Engineering Undergraduate Teaching Award (“for outstanding contributions to computing education through teaching, mentoring students and service to the education community”). At PolyU, he has received four President’s Awards.
Mr. Ken Wong
Ken Wong is the Chairman & Co-founder of BIBO. Established in 2000, BIBO — a specialist company in accounts receivable management — helps corporates turn debts into cash, with empathy and compassion as core values. Inspired by what he learnt from his career spanning Citibank, American Express, a local bank and several start-ups, he ventured into this ever-growing industry. An innovative thinker with a philanthropic heart, Ken is the guru and leader in branding, digital transformation and corporate sustainability within his company.
Grateful for his education from the Chinese University of Hong Kong, he has been campaigning for scholarships and donations to his alma mater. A key member of a Lions Club he co-founded in 2004, he has been an active participant in many philanthropic activities promoting the well-being of Hong Kong.
Ken loves scuba diving, travelling and hiking around the world. Teaching his four grandchildren to dive and living a happy life are his principal focus, on top of mentoring his company staff.
Mr. Lawrence Jao
Lawrence Jao is the managing director of Unicorn Securities Company. With over 20 years experiences in securities and asset management area, Mr. Jao has held the following positions: managing director of Concord HK, managing director of Primasia Securities Investment trust company (SITC), managing director of Barits SITC, President of Fuhwa Financial advisory Company, President of Central SITC, head of corporate finance in Peregrine Taiwan, managing director of Polaris HK. From 1989 to 1993, Mr. Jao was the specialist at various divisions in Taiwan SEC, including Listing, Enforcement, SITC, Research and Futures.

Ernest is the Secretary General of the Hong Kong Institute of Construction Managers. Before that, he has been appointed Director of Business Development of IFTA from early 2019 to late 2020 with an oversight of management responsible for the direction and strategy of the operation. During that time, he was instrumental in driving development in professional (Certified Financial Technologist qualification) and commercial products (FinTech award, conference, seminars, CPD). Prior to joining IFTA, Ernest has excelled himself with over 20 years’ professional experiences in various roles of stakeholders’ management with proven skills and credibility in engaging senior executives in education, training, and professional institute.
Mr. Yu Pui Hang
Mr. Yu Pui Hang is the principal partner of L & Y Law Office and Henry Yu & Associates. His areas of expertise include blockchain, commercial law, corporate and commercial transactions and foreign and cross-border investments. Mr. Yu is a member of the Innotech Committee (formerly known the Technology Committee) of the Law Society of Hong Kong, and has also been appointed as the Hon. Legal Advisor to the Hong Kong Federation of Innovation and Invention, Hon. Legal Advisor to the Hong Kong International Blockchain & Financial Association, Hon. Legal Advisor to the Institute of Financial Technologies of Asia and Hong Legal Advisor to the Bitcoin Association of Hong Kong. Lee Ka Ming obtained a Master of Research in Statistics from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2001. Joined BIBO Limited after graduation. In 2020, he was awarded the “Certified Financial Technologist” qualification by the IFTA Asian Institute of Financial Technologists. Good at using data analysis and technology to improve operational efficiency. Mr. Simon Au Yeung
Simon Au Yeung is currently the CEO of Blockchain Finance of ARTA TechFin Corporation Limited (0279.HK). He is a founding member of HashKey Digital Asset Group and assumed the roles of Head of Strategic Initiatives of the Group and the Chief Operating Officer of its virtual asset trading platform. Simon is experienced in building up the entire exchange system and custody from zero, i.e. starting from setting up a company, obtaining the relevant licences, communication with the regulators, building the technology and connection, purchasing the insurance, managing daily operation, arranging the security audit inspection, building the vault room, CCTVs and other security devices, liaising with different vendors, etc. Prior to HashKey, he also led different business/service functions in global financial institutions, e.g. Ant Financial (affiliate of Alibaba), RBC Wealth Management, Royal Bank of Scotland, HSBC and BNP Paribas. Simon started his career in Morgan Stanley and moved to PwC before joining the SFC as a regulator. Simon is a co-founder and co-chairperson of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Hong Kong Blockchain Chapter and a member of the IEEE Standards Association. He is also a founder of Merkle Tree Innovation Foundation, an NGO focuses on using innovative technology to relieve or resolve social problems as well as promoting STEAM education. Simon was the award winner of Leader of the Year (2019/20) of IFTA Fintech Achievement Award – Outstanding Financial Technologist. Simon is a co-inventor of three blockchain related methodologies and systems, and related patent applications was filed in Mainland China in 2020.
