Programme

09:20-09:30 Welcoming Remarks
09:30-09:45 Keynote Addresses
09:45-10:55 Panel Discussion I: How can Hong Kong benefit from the RCEP and turn it a boon for the GBA?

Synopsis:

Hong Kong has expressed a strong interest in joining the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) Agreement, which is the first free trade agreement between China and 14 other countries in the Asia-Pacific region. With 30 percent of the global GDP and 30 percent of the world population, RCEP will not only benefit Hong Kong’s enterprises to expand their markets in this sizeable market, but also act as a bridge to provide new cooperation potentials and to connect it with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Why is this important for Hong Kong to join the RCEP? How RCEP benefits Hong Kong and the GBA in the long run? How will this free trade agreement encourage collaborations in the regions?
10:55-12:05 Panel Discussion II: Unlocking Tourism Collaborations through Cultural Sustainability and Heritage Development in the GBA

Synopsis:

The 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for national economic and social development supports Hong Kong in developing itself into a hub for arts and cultural exchanges between China and the rest of the world. A city with rich history and cultural elements of east-meets-west, Hong Kong gathers artists and cultural organizations from across the globe, possibly to attract tourists to the city as well as to the other GBA cities. Hong Kong’s cultural and heritage tourism will be the key to connect the 11 cities of the cluster. How can cultural and heritage tourism boost the economy? How can the creativity and tourism sectors work together for a further growth of the industries? Will cultural and heritage tourism be the next key pillar for GBA collaboration?
12:05-13:15 Industries Dialogue: Hong Kong: The international business hub for GBA

Synopsis:

This session will feature local business leaders who have invested in businesses in different GBA cities. Lessons from their experiences can provide some valuable tips for industry players who might be interested in exploring opportunities in the regions.
